We sat down with GolfSpace co-founder Nick Lamidey to talk about where the idea came from, what makes GolfSpace different, and why now is the perfect time to bring the game home.
Nick, let’s start with the basics. What is GolfSpace all about?
Nick: Having exited from my previous business,, Thirdspace, a leading Microsoft focussed IT Security Consultancy, finding a new challenge, combined with something I loved was the natural progression. GolfSpace is all about making home golf simulators simple, beautiful, and built to last.
We specialise in designing and installing premium wooden lodges that house the market leading technology; Trackman; for people who want to play, practise, and enjoy golf without compromise.
We’re not trying to be a golf retailer, or a coaching brand. We’re focused on the space itself —building stunning, purpose-built golf studios that feel like an extension of your home, delivering our clients their dream indoor GolfSpace
Where did the idea for GolfSpace come from?
Nick: When I was looking to build my own GolfSpace, I struggled to find anybody who could deliver me the end to end solution I was looking for. Eventually I was able to find the expertise I needed, and formed GolfSpace to address this gap in the market
So GolfSpace was born out of that idea: pairing bespoke timber lodges with the best-in-class technology, installed properly, by people who understand both golf and construction.
What makes a GolfSpace studio different from other home simulator setups?
Nick: The big difference is that we do the whole thing — from the foundations to the final screen. You’re not having to manage separate contractors for the building, the electrics, and the simulator install. We handle it all.
Plus, we’re working exclusively with Trackman and Zen Golf, so we know exactly how to spec the space to get the best out of that technology.
But honestly? It’s the finish that sets us apart. These aren’t garden sheds. They’re beautiful, insulated, year-round-use studios that add value to your home and to your life.
Who is a GolfSpace studio really for?
Nick: Anyone who takes their golf seriously — or wants a space to enjoy it with family and friends. We’ve worked with single-figure players, golf-mad families, and people who just want a brilliant space to practise and unwind.
Some clients use their studio purely for game improvement. Others treat it as a hybrid space — golf during the day, movie nights in the evening. That’s the beauty of it — we tailor it to you.
What’s next for GolfSpace?
Nick: We’re continuing to grow, and we’ve got some amazing projects coming up across the UK. The goal is to make GolfSpace the go-to name in premium home simulator buildings — not mass-produced, not one-size-fits-all, but crafted spaces for golfers who want something special.
We’re also exploring a few partnerships, showroom builds, and maybe even offering demo days where people can experience a GolfSpace in person before they buy.
Finally… what’s in your dream GolfSpace setup?
Nick: I’ve already got my dream GolfSpace. A TrackMan IO with full course play, surround sound, and enough space for a bar in the corner! But seriously — the dream setup is the one that makes you want to use it every day (you will find me in my every day at 5am :-).That’s what we aim to build and everyone’s dream is different.
